MEI In Progress!

By , 30 November 2011 12:53

I’m currently undergoing training for my MEI certification as well as instructing full time. As I get my MEI Lesson Plans and notes done I’ll post them in a new page. After I finish the course, I’ll go back and put my CFI and CFI-I plans up too. Slowly but surely…

Aerodynamics for Naval Aviatiors

By , 2 March 2011 19:56

You know those few moments where you find something so useful you can’t believe it wasn’t brought to your attention long ago? I just had one of those when I found a digital copy of “Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators.” This book would have saved me so very much time when I was going through my CFI course. The diagrams and explanations are perfect for teaching Basic Aerodynamics. If you’re a pilot of any kind, you need a copy of this book. If you like PDF books, grab your copy here.

STS 133, Discovery

By , 24 February 2011 16:54

I just had the pleasure of watching Discovery make her last ascent into space. As always, it was a sight that brought me to tears. There is nothing in this world that I find as inspiring as watching a manned space launch. The mix of excitement for the crew and their mission, the absolute enormity of the task of getting something that complex into orbit, sharing in the joy of the crew, and the fear of something going wrong. For me, this is motivation, this is inspiration, and this is the highest calling of mankind. I may never fly in space, but every time I get in the cockpit of a plane, I get as close as I can.
In conclusion, congratulations to everyone at NASA and onboard Discovery on a successful launch. I think everyone will join me in saying, “Godspeed, Discovery!”

Tablet Apps

By , 4 February 2011 00:22

I’m about to start work on an E6B app for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.  If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth a quick search on your favorite search engine.  I don’t have anything earth-shattering planned for the app, it will be function and easy on the eyes with all the standard functionality, and most importantly it will be either cheap or free.  If I find something really interesting to do with it I’ll keep a basic free version and eventually publish a “pro” paid version with my awesome, yet to be discovered, “pro” features.

Anyways, I’m still working on ideas for an iPad app as well.  Now, if I could just get a few days in a row off of work and school to get this stuff done…

Set up complete, bring on the content

I’ve got everything set up on the back end of this site.  I’ve already begun working on content.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions or corrections!

Coming soon!

By , 4 March 2010 14:19

I’m just beginning the long process of getting everything up and running.  Bear with me.  I’m currently taking OU’s CFI course and will be done around the end of July.  I am generating a LOT of content for this site during the course and hope to have the majority of the reference information on this updated before the fall semester starts in August.
